The exam lasts for a total of 3 hours and 15 minutes and is separated into four parts: 2 parts are multiple choice and 2 parts are free response questions.  The exam is separated by a short break in between the multiple choice and free response.

Multiple Choice(Sections 1 & 2):

Quick Tip: If you don’t know how to solve the question, try plugging the answer choices back into the problem. 

Non Calculator Section:

  • 30 Questions
  • 60 Minutes

Calculator Section:

  • 15 Questions
  • 45 Minutes

Free Response Questions(Sections 3 & 4):

Quick Tip: Each of the FRQs has multiple parts, so try and answer as many as you can. Remember, you get points for correct answers, but you are not penalized for incorrect ones.

Calculator Section:

  • 2 Questions
  • 30 Minutes

Quick Tip: Although you are allowed to use your calculator, make sure to write out all the work done on your calculator to get full credit. 

Non Calculator Section:

  • 4 Questions
  • 60 Minutes

Quick Tip: If you incorrectly answer one part of your FRQ and use the answer you found to solve the next part, you will not be penalized twice. Rather you’re 2nd answer will be counted correct if you used the correct process and techniques needed to solve the question.
